Once more... What's happening??

I've seen "Once More, with feeling" about 5000 times and tonight when watching it on Netflix I noticed that some parts were cut (at the end of "I've got a theory" and "Under your Spell" noticibly). Anybody else notice this? Wtf??

They also cut straight to buffy in the grave yard at the very beginning. No opening instramental while the buffy house hold are getting ready

I noticed that too... They also cut Spike's song (where he kneels in front of Buffy), and one of Buddy's verses in "Through the fire". The only thing I can think of is that it was cut for timing? I hadn't watched Buffy in awhile but I know the last time I had had a marathon this episode was shown in its entirety. Glad I'm not crazy...

The episode was eight minutes longer than the other Buffy episodes. But the full length version was only in the original airing, and on the DVDs. For re-runs and syndication, it was cut to to a "normal" running time.

Odd though, that Netflix wouldn't have the uncut version.

I got my fiancé hooked on Buffy within the past few years and he remembers the extended beginning for sure (when they are getting ready in the house) and several other parts that are now gone so it used to be on there. Wonder when/why they switched to the cut version...?

reply

The uncut version is not on Netflix.

Victims, aren't we all?

reply

Yes, I agree. Plus, the odd thing is that I know it used to be uncut on there, because I got my fiancé hooked on Buffy within the past few years and he remembers those snippets that are now MIA. The part where Spike is singing on his knees in front of Buffy is one of the most powerful moments in that episode and is now gone forever. :(

The uncut version can be found on the DVD, or on Hulu. You can do a free trial just to watch the ep if you want. Here's the link: https://www.hulu.com/watch/158835

There are other ways to stream it online for free as well but you should have a good anti-virus program installed before attempting.

Axe not gonna cut it!
