Has this board EVER had regular trolls??

(Hope this post isn't summoning one into existence but) I've been on this board for awhile now. On-and-off since 2008, really, but I always come back. And one thing I've noticed is that it's one of the more friendly boards on IMDB. We all get along (for the most part) and rarely get trolls. And, if we do, they're usually from other boards and quickly leave once they realize we're not acknowledging them.

But, before or during my time away, HAS this board ever had a consistent troll?? Y'know, someone who is generally antagonistic and/or not really here for any kind of discussion?

No user names have to be given but experiences or stories.



not really. the atmosphere here never really engendered that kind of behavior.

Not that i can think of. I've even seen on other boards this was recommended as the most friendly

yep the worst you get here is the overly defensive PC crusader, of which there are a handful always about round these here parts. not too surprising considering the creator's political views, though.

I was about to say "YES!!!", but I think that that particular misogynistic, racist, nasty troll was on the Firefly board. ((It might have been Buffy.)) There was a "gentleman's bet" to get that troll off any Jossverse show boards. When it was won and the troll was effectively banished, they started posting on Joss Whedon's board. (It was a loophole in the bet which they exploited.) Eventually, they were banned from IMDb for far too many rules violations.

That sounds so mystical, I want to research it's lore and write a 5-page theory about it so fellow Buffy Board users can simply reply "nah", crushing my fragile soul..........

Thanks for the heads-up!! If there's anything I DON'T like about the IMDB message boards, it's that I never know when I have new PM. I see a number up there in the corner that fluctuates from time-to-time but have no idea when it's a new message or an old one finally expiring.



There should be an option somewhere in your board profile options to enable an email to be sent when you get a PM. That's the only thing I have set to get notifications on; whatever it's worth now.

Oh, NOW you tell me. The apocalypse is 10 days away!! People are rioting in the boards, postin' all willy-nilly and such. Hell, even the Old Ones (aka BtVS user from 5-10 years ago) are returning to post. It's CHAOS, man!! CHAOS!!!!



I would definitely read those 5 pages!!! Then ask for more. TBH, I never understood why more of your posts don't catch on in a big way. Sometimes, I'm offline or cannot read through the threads due to a migraine which is when I don't respond. [which has, unfortunately, been increasingly common  ]

He was so nasty, racist and misogynistic that people actually went to check out poor Bezos' IMDb page/message board. Meh. They're hit and miss. Funny enough, the ones people disagree with get the most responses. The ones people agree with just a get a "Wow!! I never thought of it that way." It actually got me to really think of what my more controversial theories were. Then I realized I was becoming a IMDB version of "click bait news" and decided to just stick to my guns.



This was actually on the Serenity/Firefly boards, but do you remember that one person who just kept posting FLOP FLOP FLOPPPITY FLOP!!!!!!!!!!! ad nauseum then their sock puppets and/or minions would join in??? ugh 

I don't think it has. Since I have been on the IMDB boards I have seen a few come and go but they have been nowhere near as bad as the trolls on some of the other sections that have completely overtaken them and are just waiting for new members to come along so they can attack them.

Yes. Years ago when I first registered there was a member that would constantly bash Buffy when the topic of Buffy vs. Charmed come up. The member would change their username and create so many fake ID's agreeing with themselves. It was comical. Once Charmed ended, the member vanished.
