It said on this website that their was a reference to the show Homocide: Life On The Street. I just saw the Brady Bunch 2 movie and I didn't see any reference to that show.

The main detective from HLOTS was the LAPD officer Mike spoke to; also that whole police station scene was done in a similar style to the show.

Richard Belzer was the the police detective at the station. He's on Homocide:Life on the Street. He's on a few other shows as well playing the same kinds of parts.
