roy meant that they were too easy to manipulate...like they would take anything (e.g. the money that was given)

brainbug 27,the joke is intended to show that Roy is a sleazy guy,and at one point,he gave the kids money and he even said "Go to the Gap". So,Roy is overall,a sleazy man. I won't say conman because that might be offensive (oh,no,I might be a Brady).
