So the Professor from Gilligans Island is the real dad?

Are they implying that the Professor from Gilligans Island is the real dad? Cause that would be funny.....but thats just my opinion.

I have a far out pad too.

reply

Yes that is what we are lead to believe in the movie.

reply

Yeah, a bit far fetched, but I guess that's the deal...funny thing is he IS still alive!

Let's not forget the Jeannie (from I Dream of Jeannie) is Mike's 1st wife...doesn't get any "weirder" then that!

I have a feeling that if this movie had performed better the box office, the 'Gilligan's Island' movie would have been greenlit almost immediately.

Mama always said sex is like a box of chocolates, the ones with the cherries are better.

as clever as I thought that was and as much as I liked it made NO sense to me seeing as IDOJ had NOTHING to do with either "Gilligan's Island or the Brady Bunch"

reply

What's fun about it is Sherwood Schwartz wrote and created both the Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island series. I love all the slight hints and jokes in this movie.

I remember seeing this in the theater back in 1996. Hardly anyone was in the theater but I still thought for sure there would be more Brady movies or a Gilligans Island movie, just from the way they ended it. Alas, nothing.

Yes. So that makes Carol and the girl's former last name Hinkley.

The writers should have remembered the first movie better. In it the girl Peter was interested in said that Peter was cute in a "Gilligan kind of way". Also at the end of the movie Peter told the girl something like...that she's "neater than Ginger and Maryann combined".

reply

Pretty much.

Given the same dude made both shows, the tie-in is pretty funny...

Even the boat scene at the beginning, with the storm, felt like a brief homage to "Gillian"...

It made more sense back then, as - compared to 2012, these shows were still fresh and remembered more often back then. They couldn't be made now...
