Am I mising something, or how can someone pretend to be your ex-husband, and therefore the Brady girls' father? Wouldn't they know him?

yeah and plus, Mrs. Brady and the rest of them are all very guilable and naive it doesn't take too much for them to buy into something. Plus it's nessecery (sp?) for the plot.

I remember a line from it where she says to him "you look like, well not like roy". So she DID remember what her husband looked like. as for her daughters, the only one that probably remembered what he looked like would be marsha. Well Jan probably remembered him some too. but he probably disappeared when cindy was just a baby so she wouldn't remember him at all.

He also said that an elephant stomped on his face making it change and he was on a stretchboard making him taller. She knew he was an explorer so she figured that would probably happen.

This is a great movie by the way.

Um, yeah, you would definitely know it's not your husband... that's why it's funny. The Bradys assume honesty in everyone they meet and never suspect anything less than the best. (The "we all want to be gay" moment comes to mind... it never occurs to them that "gay" means anything except "happy".)

Its a movie. A comedy to boot and it's not supposed to make that much sense. Plus it's a Brady movie and you know how dippy they were anyway.

Didn't he claim to have reconstructive surgery on his face?

An elephant stepped on his face, he was stretched on the rack (which made him taller), and his voice was different, because "a man's voice changes when that man has been away from the ones he loves for too long".
