Was this shot back to back with the first one?
I just noticed they came out a little over a year apart, which I doubt was enough time for a studio to look at box office and home video returns and greenlighting a sequel.
shareNo it wasn't. Sometimes studios will greenlight a sequel based on opening weekend. I know the first one was a surprise hit, so after the first or second weekend it could have easily been greenlit after that.
