Twister made half a billion $ in 1996

it was 2nd only o ID4 domestic and worldwide

that's why its getting a reboot (or maybe its a sequel with a Helen Hunt supporting role? that seems to be the trend these days more than remakes)

Its brand awareness, nostalgia, the increase sales of original on stream/DVD etc

It’s pretty surprising. Like Contact and other such films.

The 90’s had more pride in movies with morales, decent special effects, and pride in being good. I dont know where it went wrong where bad music and bad movies make a killing nowadays.

The 90s were quite possibly THE single best decade for movies. 1996 and 1999 in particular were epic. So many good movies came out those years.

And a lot of 90s movies are on my personal all-time favorites list, like The Mummy, The Rock, Searching for Bobby Fischer, Fight Club, Fargo, Goodfellas. . . Man, I could go on and on.

Are they still doing that?

And it deserved every penny of it. Great film. I still remember going with my brother to see it in the theater and I loved it.

It's a shame we haven't gotten any good tornado movies since 1996. There have been a lot of shitty TV movies, and there was Into the Storm which was kinda sorta okay, but Twister is still far and away the best tornado film ever made.

I remember going to the theater as a kid and it was overflowing with people, some sitting in the aisle. Classic film.
