Sisko should be on the defiant, lost opportunity
this is the ship he helped design to fight the borg, he was at battle wolf 359 and lost his first wife, he had anger towards picard for it and never saw the borg on DS9, so its a big payoff moment
you don't even have to make it obvious, like "they killed my wife so im going to destroy them", enough fans will understand it without needing to explain much
just have the movie start as it does with picard nightmares and knowing that the admiral was going to say borg, then switch to the admiral informing sisko about it, sisko stays silent but fans might imagine how he is feeling, admiral informs him of the enterprise being ordered away from the battle, sisko can make some derogatory remark about them because they also missed out on 359 (worf and o'brien visibly displeased with the comments), the admiral finishes by wishing good luck and reminds the viewers that the defiant was built for this so now its going to get its chance
then when the enterprise makes the save it is redemption, and make it clear that defiant did an excellent job softening the borg up so that a few torpedoes can finish them off
but the problem is obviously do you want him in the rest of the movie? sort of in the way, why does the enterprise leave him behind etc, maybe he can stay behind to lead repair efforts and be gobbled up by the borg alternate timeline on screen with o'brien
