Moby Dick didn't come after Ahab

So the analogy doen't exactly apply. Picard was an a mission to save humanity and not on a mission to seek out and destroy the borg.

In theory but not ultimately in practice. You need to look beyond face value. While Picard's mission was to save humanity, his motivation in the destruction of the Borg went beyond duty and began to affect his judgement. That was the whole point. Lily recognised that Captain Picard, Star Fleet Officer on a mission to save humanity had become consumed by Jean Luc Picard, scorned man seeking personal revenge, just like Captain Ahab's quest for vengeance resulted in him losing his mind and making decisions that would inevitably lead to ruination.

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!
