It would have been fine with bookends; Patric's narration at the beginning and end was fine. But it's just overkill to have him chiming in every 3-5 minutes, reading directly from the book.
I'd love to see a cut without it.
agree, that is the worst thing about this movie.
share...the narration by Jason Patric is not needed, and almost ruins the movie. Bad choice by Levinson.

I didn't mind the narration.
It filled in some of the blanks of what the characters were thinking, when they made certain choices.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
