Yeah it still holds up well.
shareYes , i was very dismissive of it in my early early teens (where the tits??!!,etc) . Watching all these years later and i love it. The atmosphere he makes with all the musical compositions is amazing. The music really adds a lot of enjoyment for me. The first song at end credits is an obligatory cheesy 90s pop song but the classical music that follows is what should have cued up at the start of the end credits. Great movie, that pays respect to the wonderful movies that preceded it
shareYep, Scream is a perfect film, definitely a candidate for greatest horror ever.
It manages to be constantly funny and suspenseful, and dips into pretty disturbing horror at the beginning and end.
A great cast, legendary director and talented young writer who captured the zeitgeist are all firing on all cylinders, it’s a perfect symphony.
1 to 4 are all great (a slight dip with 3), and of course the dumb and woke pieces of shit 5 and 6 don’t count, the series died with Craven.
But this first film is just *chef’s kiss*
Agree. Scream 1 is still a great whodunit slasher with the perfect amount of humor thrown in . Good characters too and it never gets stale or boring .
The only gripe I have about this movie is when ghostface is seen in the convenience store during the day stalking Sidney and her friend.. I mean come on lol
