When I went and saw this movie back at the theater with my older Brother and his friends when I was 12 and they were all 20, We all thought that the concept or the phrase "Jimmy Shaker Day" Sounded pretty funny and actually quite cool. We decided that we would all celebrate Jimmy Shaker day, and some day try to open a resturaunt called Jimmy Shakers. So when should everyone celebrate Jimmy Shaker Day? We usually celebrate in of Sept 17th, We figured it kinda sounded like a St. Patricks day holiday. So we celebrate it 6 months apart from St. Patricks, figuring its nice to have 2 of them in one year. We celebrate it by having a couple of beers and we all a kinda feast with Steaks, Ribs, Buffalo Wings, Shredded Pork, Brisket, Potatos or Fries, Cole Slaw rather than Corn Beef and Cabbage. So I am wondering, does anyone else celebrate Jimmy Shaker Day?
My friends and I celebrate it too, thats funny that somebody else actually does that. We eat trash food though only because Jimmy Shaker is "human garbage" so we drink malt liquor and eat hot dogs its always a good time!!!
Should get the kids together for fun activities such as torching an effigy of the Jimmy character as well as putting up a row of Jimmy scarecrows and fill up the torso with animal entrails and see who can run up to one first and stab it with a bayonet or something.then run over the remains with a lawn mower.
Yeah, I was meaning to drop by and see what everyone did. As Jimmy Shaker Day was on a sunday this year I was out boating and drinking beer. Jimmy Shaker Day, of course, rocked.
Holy crap! I can't believe there are other people who celebrate Jimmy Shaker Day! I usually observe this most glorious of holidays on November 8th, since that's the day the film was released. Several of my friends (we're all in college) get together, drink, eat trashy food (not originally due to the "human garbage" quote, but that is a GREAT reason) and "Rocky Horror-ize" the movie with audience participation lines. It's actually been known to be a bigger event in our house than Thanksgiving.
You know, I think this holiday needs some carols. It could easily be as fun as Christmas.
Imagine, you go to the mall to take the kids to see Jimmy Shaker. Instead of asking if they've been good all year, he of course asks if they're known scumbags in this precinct. Then on Jimmy Shaker day itself, you can spend the evening sitting around the fireplace, recounting tales of the Morlocks and the Eloi, feasting upon cough medicine and Frankenberry cereal. Suddenly, the group spontaneously breaks into "Jimmy Shaker's Coming to Town" follwed by a stirring rendition of "Away with a Stranger" (lyrics reproduced below) and "Pay Yourself a Merry Little Ransom". The evening then culminates with Jimmy Shaker himself coming down the chimney to take the children and to leave gifts of ransom videos and crippling fear.
Come on, everyone, to the tune of "Away in a Manger":
Away with a stranger Handcuffed to a bed The frightened Sean Mullen Lifts his duct-taped head The stars of the movie Were then forced to pay But warned to beware of Jimmy Shaker Day!
I know no one in this thread, but dammit! I gotta party with you Jimmy Shaker Day celebraters!
This is the awesomenest thread EVAH!!!!
Next Jimmy Shaker day, I am gonna make Hamburger tater tot casserole, drink PBR, and eat snowball snack cakes. And find some reason to hollar ''Get me Sabian!, I'll only talk to Chris Sabian!', just cause it seems like something totally cool to say on Jimmy Shaker day! (even though it's from a totally different flick, but oh well.)

That absolutely had me in stitches! I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
I'm gonna celebrate Jimmy Shaker day on September 17th aswell
A BBQ, some beers and a viewing of this film sounds like good fun, I'll try to use lines from the film in as many scenarios that day as I can, especially the lying ass dog line, I have to use that from now on.
Am I the only one who notices the double entondra of "jimmy shaker"? I have this mental image of 100 guys standing in a long line and whipping it out for jimmy shaker day lol
