I can't believe everybody is so offended that Edward Norton didn't get the recognition he deserved for his role as Aaron. He does a decent job, I suppose, but he so obviously stole the character from Brad Dourif's portrayal of Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. At some points, for instance when Aaron is being examined by Molly, the similarity in the stutter and mannerisms make the scene almost unwatchable.

Edward Norton deserved the Oscar? That's ridiculous. Sure, he may have deserved it over Cuba Gooding Jr., but the Oscar should have gone to Ewan McGregor for his role in Trainspotting.

Edward Norton is the greatest actor of all time? No. That would be a tossup between Laurence Oliver and Sir Daniel Day Lewis.

I'd seen One Flew about 6 months before this (just watched it) and I didn't at all think about Braf Douriff when watching Norton, but then Douriff didn't really make a lasting impression on me.

I don't know too much about the supporting Oscar race in 96 but of the films I've seen, Steve Buscemi and William H. Macy in Fargo, Robert Carlyle in Trainspotting and Norton in this deserved it more than Cuba Gooding Jr.

But Ewan McGregor was definitely the lead in Trainspotting :)
