Tagline on two faced people doesn't really apply to Aaron - query

The Tagline for this film is

"No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself and another for the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true."

-The Scarlet Letter, pg. 188

This is applicable to the Bishop .. but not to Aaron. Is this supposed to be an ironic tagline then? As Aaron wears two faces, but is never confused as to which he truly is.

Martin never striked me as someone who wears multiple faces, so I'm just wondering what the significance of this quote is, given it seems more relevant to Aaron, but in a sense, is not really relevant to him at all.

Thoughts?

I am wondering WHO nominated this as a tagline?

Is this just an IMDb throwaway line?

But you are very correct re Roy as he always had Aaron in total control until he needed to slip back to Roy.

It could well be referring to Marty as we finally saw that the "bad bad thing" he did was in fact always on his mind and was a major reason he was so keen to take this case to REVERSE that with Shaunassy freak.

That was the part of the Scarlett letter that Aaron underlined and carved into the archbishop's chest, either as a way of saying the archbishop was a two faced man or as a subtle clue to hunt at his guilt
