Does William L Peterson get killed and if he does how does he?

They left his death open-ended. He sure didn't look too well at the bottom of the hill though.

Extremely late to respond, but I've only just seen this movie. William's character gets thrown off of a cliff and lands on the street below. It doesn't show him die, but he is very badly injured and doesn't look like he'd last that long.
