This film needs an Oscar for editing crappy film 2gether with good film.

The seamless editing of Jackson's comedy with Davis's hack job crapaction film was amazing. Those hilarious one-liners followed directly by ice skating and cliff top ghost memories. Wow.

OK, you lost me at "The". What exactly does your comment mean?

reply

Well, one "portion" of this movie was very, very good. Another "portion" was very, very bad. I am merely commenting on the fact that it's rare to have total crap and hilarity in the same film. Any other simple concepts you would like me to explain for you??

reply

No, but someone hopefully can help you with the simple concept of putting together a string of sentences that make sense.

Yes,my original post contained a grand total of ...two sentences in a row. I should have put a warning. I will be more considerate of the slow learners next time. I empathize with your struggle.

Two horribly constructed and ambiguous sentences. Please also include a warning for those not wishing to get their head bit off when they ask you to interpret your own drivel.

(I know I'm a year late, but I couldn't resist.)

I empathize with your struggle.

Makes sense, seeing how you MUST read your own writing on a fairly regular basis. Meanwhile, the rest of us are free to avoid you.

Your original post had 4 sentences actually, I guess counting and comprehensive statements aren't your strong points

I agree with you.

The film seemed to be a long string of bad cliches, stupid and highly improbable situations, but every now and then when I was thinking this was about the worst put-together and directed piece of garbage ever, there was some technical or continuity gem that had me say to myself "Ah. Someone is actually paying attention some of the time to what they are doing".

A definite low point in Geena Davis' career, even though she looked great doing it. A low point in Jackson's career? Probably not, but I doubt anyone involved in this film is proud of their accomplishments.

Actually they all were, enough so that Jackson & Harlin are making a sequel to it.

And while it may be off topic, your post heading made me think of it. On some random VHS I have (don't remember which), they show one of those bad trailers for some weird direct-to-video crap before the movie and lo and behold, cut in amongst whatever it is they filmed for the actual movie are big expensive special effects. After scratching my head for a second thinking "That looks familiar", I realized whatever that movie was, used the shots of Sam Jackson & Geena Davis driving the car over the bridge while it's blowing up. Literally, the same stuff, but with differant actors in the close-ups and the bridge is blowing up for a differant reason. Not only that, but a few seconds later they use footage of the snowmobile chase. Never seen that done before. Take special effects from a big budget movie and just reuse them on a direct-to-video film? Okay.

That happens with countless dtv films. It´s realy nothing special.

Sarcasticly, I am in charge.
