I've been waiting for a re-issue on DVD for a very long time.

Sometimes these rare ones are re-issued. I've seen very expensive out-of-print DVDs be re-issued. But there's no way to know if or when.

If it does get reissued into a DVD I will pay the money to buy a copy because right now I own a VHS copy of this film.

That is very high is it not for a DVD copy? I think so in my opinion. The only way that I would pay that kind of money for a movie is if I was rich and I could afford to spend money like that for a rare film. Shoot I would even buy something that The Three Stooges used in their shorts, Abbott and Costello used in their feature films so that I can say I own a rare item. Possibly one of these days I will be able to do that and buy movies as well.
