$67 million? What?! No wonder this movie bombed!

First, let me say that I really liked "Last Man Standing". I was one of the three or four people that actually saw this in a theater. Walter Hill is a great director.
That having been said, why in the world did this flick cost so damn much to make? A small town set in the desert, some old-timey cars. We know that Bruce will work cheap if he believes in the movie (and I remember in interviews at the time that he believed in this one as art rather than a commercial action flick).
If this thing didn't cost so much but was otherwise the same, I bet it would be much better remembered today.

WOW, I don't know if that budget is correct, but if it is correct, Bruce Willis' salary must have been a very large chunk of it! I also think it is a great movie!

I thought it was pretty good too. I invited a group of mates to go see it for my 16th birthday. I think i was the only one that liked it, but it kind of resonated with me i suppose. good action form memory. maybe thats where the budget went?

I went to see this the day AFTER my 16th birthday. And I love the movie.

But I do recall Empire Magazine saying in 1995 that Bruce Willis would be receiving a $20 million paycheck for Gundown (which was the original title of the movie).
