Lack of blood

No blood squids?

Well if there were you couldn't see the effect either because of the rubbish brown sepia effect of the film or not much red juice packed in the squids.

There was a lot of blood in every single shoot out. You either need glasses or a bigger TV.

from what i remember the bullet hits had alot more smoke and chucks of stuff (flesh, clothe?) flying out rather than blood. still a very violent film even though lacking excessive blood.

reply

Well, sure, lacking "excessive blood", but that's not exactly what this movie is about (although, given it's cheesy atmosphere and imitation of the chinese shoot-em-up's - like "Hard Boiled" or "The Killer" the excess blood wouldn't have been out of place) it is still a solid movie given it's objective. I would not rate it any lower than a seven. Bruce Willis sells this movie big time.

i think you mean 'squibs'.

For what it's worth, after the so-called "gunfight at the O.K. Corral," at least one eye-witness who viewed the freshly dead bodies in the vacant lot where the fight really took place commented on the lack of blood. On the other hand, after the famous fight in the Graham-Tewksbury war, in which Sheriff Commodore Perry Owens, firing a Winchester from the hip, fatally wounded four gunmen with as many shots, a contemporary newspaper account comments on "thick, ropy" pools of blood all over the scene. I guess some people are bleeders and others aren't. I also imagine it depends where the bullet hits, and that often the serious bleeding doesn't commence immediately unless the bullet punctures a big vein or artery or something.

reply

You can bleed more if your still alive rather then dead.

I also miss the blood squibs...with some more squibs this movie would have been much cooler and more realistic and way better than it is now...sure the plot holes and lack of character development lower the rating too...but some good old hong kong blood squibs would have made it a better movie. Although im rly glad that it is the old school effects instead of bad cgi that we see in every lame movie today.
