Why didn't?
Why didn't Howard Langston simply use websites such as Amazon.com and Ebay to get the Turbo Man doll for his son Jamie? I think it would've been better that way.

1996
The internet wasn't really big back then.
Why do people keep asking stupid questions like these ?. First Amazon and Ebay were still in their infancy stage during the mid 90s. And second, if he had orderd the doll from online store then it would have made for a short and boring movie.
shareI don't think amazon nor ebay could have delivered in less that 1 business day! Haha
shareEbay was around then (started in '95), but like what someone else said, he wouldn't have gotten it in time for Christmas.
Get away from her, you BITCH!!!

Its a stupid question really but all of these points are irrelevent given that it was xmas eve and it would never have arrived on time
shareIf people payed attention to the movie Howard put his career over his family as the number one priority. He missed his son's karate tournament three times. He failed to get the toy before the Holiday season. Howard didn't make the time to put up the Christmas decorations such as lights. The movie was made in 1995 so not a lot of people were using the internet to do Christmas shopping online.
shareI'm a parent & my oldest was a baby in 1996. Shopping online was new in 1996. It was really not something you thought about or did that often. eBay was new too and honestly I don't remember using Amazon until about 1998 or so.
Tickle Me Elmo was very popular in 1996. We had people in our mall parking trying to tell them for over $100. My husband & I had one in our hands a month or so but it scared our daughter but we did talk about how we wished we bought it anyway so we could sell it for a profit. We didn't even think of looking online because as I said it was still so new at the time.
