Does Anyone Like The Extended Cut Better Than The Theatrical Version?

Just curious which version fans of this film prefer. One thing that I like about the extended cut is they put that scene with Howard and his wife that is after the credits in the theatrical version, before the ending credits. It just makes more sense to put it there.Believe it or not, some people didn't even know about that scene being most people don't watch the ending credits.

Mostly everything from the alternate acting takes and different musical cues to the reinserted deleted scenes and extended scenes all play out for the worse. The theatrical cut trimmed all the fat, the editing was far better.

Do you like the scene after the credits better before the credits or afterward?Just curious?

That's probably the one thing the Extended Cut does better, but its so marginal in its importance that it barely rates a mention.

I love the movie and therefore enjoy seeing deleted scenes, but overall I'd say they made the right choices. All of the deleted scenes messed with pacing and weren't that funny.

I suppose I like it before the credits, as I generally hate mid / post credits scenes but it wasn't a big deal overall.

I must have watched this movie 50 times since I was a kid (by that, I mean after the first couple watches, now when it's December and a Christmas movie is on T.V., you turn it on and sometimes watch and sometimes half pay attention lol).

Anyway, I never knew about that scene. I usually watch the credits in a movie where there is a point to a mid or post credits scene, but not this one. I'll have to look.

I also didn't know there was an extended edition, but judging by the other comments it sounds bad.

I wonder why they chose to change the playing of “Jingle Bells” in the montage with “The Christmas Song” in the Extended Cut since the editing seems to match with the “Jingle Bells” song

I prefer the extended cut. I like the Santa Clauses singing, "The little boy that Santa Claus forgot."

I'd have to watch it again. I saw the Extended Cut years ago when it aired on the CW and only recognized it was that version at the end because the post credits scene played before the credits.
