Help! I missed an important scene

Hi there... I have just seen the movie.. It was amazing...

After Ernie goes back to his home, he started to tell everyone that he will get married soon from an American nurse that he met in the front line, in the mean while, in Italy, she stayed there thinking of him with herself and wondering whether she is doing a right thing in loving him or not. Then, the Italian doctor invited her and the other nurse to his mother's house in Venice, he wanted to impress her and show her the greatenss of Venice, then he told her that he wants her to come the next time without the other nurse. So she started to have like a social relationship with the doc and his familia but at the same time she was all the time thinking about her love Ernie. After that, and in one of the dinner's at the doc's house, they announced that the war was over, so there were celeberating and the dog asked her for a dance, at this point the viewer will think that she is enjoying being in all of this, the lif of Dr. Italian, but when they were dancing in the middile of the noise she floats away in her thoughts, meaning that she is still in love. The doc purposes to her and she thinks about it, then she decides to marry him, so she wrote a letter to Ernie telling him that it will be the last letter from her and she will get married from the Italian doctor, he got mad, started to crush stuff in his room, photos' borders, stuff like that... After 8 months, she goes to New York and appearantley she wasn't married to the doc bcoz of a her love life, and she met with Harry who told her that Ernie is so angry, even after 8 months, and he writes letters to Harry expressing his anger towards Agnes. Harry told her also that Ernie moved to his father's cabent (wrong speeling) that lays on the lake and he is trying to do some writting, and u know the rest.
