That fu**ed up dog was mint!!! It was the best thing about this movie and I wish it featured in more of the sequels etc.

I liked the dog too.....scary...a Cenobite dog...:)
Angelique was the best thing about this movie, IMO, but the dog was a creepy addition that's for sure.

It's not a dog, it's a human who was not worthy to become a cenobite.

If your good at anticipating the human mind, it leaves nothing to chance!

We don't really know whether or not it was made into a dog because it was deemed unworthy. There's no official back story, but it's implied in the script that it was human. Really, I think you can't apply what we consider to be worthy and unworthy to cenobites, considering they actually enjoy pain. Maybe being reduced to a ferocious beast is considered an honor?

You probably already know this by now but it's another variation of the Chatterer. It's called the Chatter Beast. Did you not notice it clicking it's teeth? I love that thing.
