Would it have better if Julia was in this?

I have read that they wanted Claire Higgens be the continuity for the franchise, however she declined, most likely she did not want to be type casted. I have always felt that Angelique was a way of replacing the Claire Higgens character, Julia, in the franchise. Originally she was supposed to be the Queen of Hell, well in this they just replaced her in this film. I think it would have established some sort of familiarity them and would have worked better than it did with Angelique.

A Delorean.

Julia was such a great character that I think anything could be improved by her presence. This movie was still pretty good even without her, though.

Julia would have played a similar role to Angelique in an unproduced version of Hellraiser III, forming a cult centered around worshiping Leviathan and planning to unleash Hell on Earth.

Thinking about it some more, it would have been interesting seeing Julia and Pinhead acting as allies. They never really interacted in the first two movies.

Julia makes any film better. She was a major part of why I enjoyed 1 and 2 so much. She's a phenomenal actress.

I love Claire Higgins as Julia, and found her very sexy in the way she played the characters. I don't know if in 1996 the producers would have had her do this movie the way they did with Valentina Vargas. Claire has 9 years on Valentina, and while I have no doubt she could have still pulled off sexy, a woman her age at the time just didn't get that kind of role often in horror movies, that are aimed at a mostly young crowd. Sex appeal is certainly about more than looks and Claire Higgins knew how to do that. Whether the powers in charge of making this movie (had they gotten her) would have viewed her the same way, I doubt.
