The Oscar and the Golden Globe.
Was that a real Oscar and Golden Globe used in the film , if it was who did they belong to ?.

shareI was wondering that too. I know Goldie Hawn actually has won both an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress (both for the same movie, actually, "Cactus Flower"). She did not, however, as Brenda says "beat Meryl (Streep)" for the Oscar. Streep did not receive one of her 16 Academy Award nominations in 1970, the year of Goldie Hawn's win.

I think Brenda was saying that to Elise cause she apparantly had won an oscar and golden globe ,sonot meaning to Goldie herself cause you`re right Meryl didn`t recieve her first nomination til 78 then won in 79. Also the oscar and the golden globe used if they were real ones , could`ve belonged to other winners in the film Diane or Maggie , they have won both as well. They certainly looked like real ones in the film but when Brenda throws the globe at the wall and smashes a portrait of Elise i think that is what she threw it at, i`m sure that definitely they wouldn`ve used a realone probably made one up to look like it.
shareNo, obviously she was talking to the character Elise rather than Goldie herself, but it could have been a sort of in-joke I guess. I also think that it's pretty easy to make a fake Oscar/Golden Globe statuette, it's just like any other prop (far more advanced props have been made, obviously). It could have been treated as an in-joke, though, as I said. Maybe it wasn't part of the original script but added cause the actresses themselves thought it would be funny. I mean, it could have gone any number of ways. That's what's interesting (and irritating), we'll never know.

No , we won`t yes that can irritating . You`re right bout the oscar and the globe used they could`ve been fake they did look like real ones.
shareThe academy doesn't allow for oscars to be used in movies and tv shows. All the ones you see are replicas. No clue about the GG.
shareThey did look real so i assumed maybe they were Goldie Hawn`s.
shareIt couldn't have been GH's because the academy only allows replicas to be used in movies. "The Holiday" is a prime example of this. The elderly mans oscar looks real...but it isn't.
I don't know what the HFPA stance on this is so the Globe could Have been Ms. Hawns.
Would you throw your golden globe into a wall for a scene? Pretty sure it was a replica.....
sharemaybe it was Diane Keaton's Oscar statuette? Didn't she win for Annie Hall?
