Is it just me, or is the actress they had play Brenda in College an EXTREME Barbra Streisand look-alike! It's almost uncanny .. But ever since my first watch of this movie, I can't watch it and not think that she looks like Barbra!
Anyone else see what I mean? :)

I agree! When I saw her in the first scene I thought maybe they had made the actresses up to look younger and that she actually WAS Bette until I saw the other girls and realized they weren't the older actresses.

I agree that the young "Brenda" is a dead ringer for a young Streisand, but I think the director's goal was to have young women who acted and sounded like Hawn, Midler, and Keaton, more so that who looked like them. I think the director succeeded.
shareI think they did a great job of finding actresses who were very believable as the younger version of the 4 leads. And yes, the lines are all dubbed by the 4 leads (just like at the beginning of League of Their Own). I think the one exception is at the end of the scene where young Elise asks about her hair and young Brenda says "it's good." I think that was not dubbed, but I could be wrong.
