Does anyone else love...

That final scene? I know it really has no purpose whatsoever but I'm a sucker for musical numbers. It's the perfect capper to a feel-good movie. I even wrote a blog post about it just because of my fondness for it: http://www.wineandwatch.com/great-scene-first-wives-club/

the muscial number, while wonderful to watch, isn't at all gratuituos. annie was embarrassed to sing and dance in public and she considered she had done a fool of herself singing for cynthia and was unable to go through with the song the night after they stole morty's papers so this ending is actually rather perfect to show how annie, who's slightly more of a protagonist than brenda and elise has grown and become more brave throughout the film.

I saw something different.
The lyrics of the song shout freedom. "You don't own me"
All three women were held captive by what their husbands did to them. Throughout this movie they found their self worth with a purpose.
I tear up at this scene because they proclaim freedom, strength and happiness. And they looked good in all white too!
I was inspired.

pva3232, I agree with you, although I think it does also show that Annie has grown in strength throughout the film. Anyway, I just so love this ending 

I was gonna let you *beep* me, but I got my rag, and I know how you hate a mess
