Most DVDs just don't cut it these days when you've been watching Blu-ray Disc for around 7 years...how can this flick not be out on Blu-ray yet?
Those scenes with NIN would be so much more awesome in 1080p24 with lossless high resolution surround sound, get on it whomever owns the movie rights currently.
I wish it gets on Blu-Ray but I still prefer DVDS because they are a lot cheaper. I hope it gets on Blu-Ray or a re-release on DVD will be fine because the DVD it has is a horrible Full-Screen edition with no special features which I think sucks because there is a lot of crappy films that get special editions.
It is definitely deserving of a Blu-Ray release. The cinematography is stunning and the score is hauntingly beautiful. Until then, there is a 720p version out there (ARrrr matey!), probably sourced from an HDTV viewing. Very crisp picture and good sound.
kcott this has been out on DVD in widescreen for ages, I know I had my copy before a single Blu-ray had been released and that was June 2006 - it's a flipper DVD with 4:3 on one side and 16:9 on the other (well, 1.85:1).
But it definitely should be released on Blu-ray, and catalogue titles are rarely ever expensive. Most titles I buy on Blu-ray that aren't brand new first-releases (you know, like The Martian) are around $12-$18.
You know, I found that out not that long ago, the reason why I thought this was the case was because for the longest time, Amazon.com's listing was the one that popped up first and I bought from that years ago and the DVD I have is a single sided disc and is presented in full screen. The Fan does deserve a Blu-Ray with features though.
