Anyone else love this film's soundtrack?
I thought it had some awesome music. Especially the last sing that plays over the final scene and the credits. This is probably my favorite Hans Zimmer score.

i thought the music was such a rip off of Seven. They used the same remix of "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails.... just watching de Niro lurking around with that music made me want to throw up.... I thought it was pretty awful.
shareBrilliant score from Zimmer and yes... that end scene music was one of the best i've heard.

It's been a long, long time since I've seen the movie all the way through, but if I remember right, the song that plays when the knife is thrown through the wall is off of Fixed, not Closer to God.
Then again, I've been working for d*mn near four weeks straight.
Not my favorite Zimmer score, but definitely effective in setting the mood. "Letting Go" is a cool song.

my favourite soundtrack by hanz zimmer was backdraft it was fantastic.
Victims...........arent we all.
Backdraft's score is an awesome one too, especially the last 45 minutes of the movie. And this one has a great main title theme and good stuff overall. Both of the Scotts need to work with Zimmer again, though. Gregson-Williams can get repetitive for Tony (though even his repetitive stuff can still be good) and Streitenfeld has yet to produce one good score for Ridley. Those two may be disciples of Zimmer, but Zimmer is still the master. Think about the run that Zimmer did for Ridley Scott a couple years ago (Gladiator, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, and Matchstick Men). Four awesome scores in a row. And since Ridley seemingly brought back the same team hea started with on Gladiator for the new Robin Hood, he ought to call up Zimmer again because, I repeat, Hans Zimmer is the master.
sharei mostly enjoy the NIN remixes of closer...there is several during the film which appear on the Closer single

The soundtrack is exceptional but the song "letting go" is hauntingly beautiful.
shareI agree, everytime I go up to San Francisco to see the Dodgers play the Giants, I always think of this song and the movie....it's pretty random why I like it, but it's still a great song
shareI'm not a huge Zimmer fan; there are a few of his scores I really like especially The Thin Red Line and his new Inception score is pretty great. But I feel he is like James Horner, very repetitive and recycled. But his score for The Fan is almost magical. It's way too uplifting for such a dark film. I purchased this soundtrack on eBay but it completely sucked. Zimmer's score is hardly on it...perhaps one song on the whole CD. It is almost redeemed by d'Arby's Letting Go though. It is amazing how they incorporated Zimmer's score into that beautiful song.
The score is nowhere near his best, but its OK. Sometimes it was just noise, which is a shame. Its not subtle or clever but its quite effective. Letting Go is great though.
RprtPpkn, theres an expanded score with more of Zimmer's music. PM me.
