Tony Scott is just as good as Ridley

I am just commenting on the review posted on the front that claims Tony Scott get's Ridley Scott's leftovers. This is not true. Ridley Scott and Tony Scott have two very differn't artistic styles, This is why Ridley Scott's movies seem more Masterpieceful(couldn't find right word so I made one up), and Tony Scott's movies seem more Un-Artistic Action. But if you watch his movies they are done with an excellent eye for detail and talent. Movies like "Days of Thunder" and "Top Gun" are not anyone's left overs. And for the record, if you do the math, Tony Scott's movies have gross 1.4 billion world wide, and Ridley Scotts have grossed only 1.3, And all of tony's had a smaller budget.

I'm not saying that one is better than the other by any means. I am just saying don't underestimate Tony Scott, cause he is just as good as Ridley.

I love the Scott bros. Days of Thunder, Domino, Top Gun, Man on Fire, Alien, Gladiator, Thelma and Louise, The Fan, True Romance, Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, Kingdom of Heaven, Hannibal, and the list goes on. They have BOTH provided us, the viewers with amazing, original, stunning pictures and have made modern cinema very enjoyable. Long Live the Scotts!

i agree, i havnt seen Domino yet, but I love Tony's flms; Enemy of the state and man on fire in particular. Ridley is just as good but is just more well known for making bigger films (gladiator, black hawk down). i think both have different styles, and both tranfer thier ideas onto film excellently. Keep up the good work boys!

willard scott is cool too.

We're not soldiers and he's not the enemy. He's a pizza man.

One of the stupidest statements I've heard in a while. Ridley Scott is a master. Tony Scott is just awful.

no way jose!

I'm with the Mattress Police. There are no tags on these mattresses.

TBH, I've never seen anything by Ridley that can topple True Romance, one of my favorite movies ever.

reply

He really was. The only thing awful is the jealousy in this thread and those that drove Tony to do what he did. May he rest in peace.

reply

Eh, I withdraw what I said. Blade Runner is better than True Romance, but still Tony was just as good as Ridley. Both had their fair share of hits and misses.
