Well there are many ''holes'' in the movie that it can't get higher rating.
One of them is why noone knew about Triphase when it was a huge building and possible company that even had bags with their name? What was that?

I would say 6 is a fair rating. Grant tries hard in a thriller environment and Hackman is effortless.
Its that man again!!
Here's what the late, great Roger Ebert had to say about this film in his review of 27th September 1996. He gave it 3 stars (out of 4, I think):

This was a thought-provoking thriller which made me wonder if the book might somehow have been inspired by a real event. Although I can't find any obvious evidence that something very similar happened in real life, it nevertheless strikes me as quite plausible that the potentially huge rewards, financial and otherwise, of finding a cure for cancer, for example, could result in an unhealthy alliance of interested parties (health professionals, pharmaceutical companies etc.) being completely led astray from an ethical standpoint.
Maybe it wouldn't happen in the USA itself and maybe homeless men wouldn't be the victims. However, I could certainly envisage a situation where a major biomed/ pharmaceutical company discreetly set up a complex chain of subsidiaries in various offshore tax havens in order to hide its involvement in an unethical research project being undertaken on its behalf in a suitably corrupt developing country. The victims would obviously be the poor of that developing country.
I was also sad to learn that the author of the book, Extreme Measures, Dr Michael Palmer, died a year and a half ago. Here is his obituary in the New York Times:

it's up to a 6.2 now, i rate it a 6.5
