The Commando Team

The commando team that assaulted the house in search of the nerve gas was made up of four whites, one black, one Hispanic, and one Asian. This reminds me of the World War II movies that had Jewish Americans, Polish Americans, Italian Americans, and Irish Americans playing soldiers, sailors, and airmen. The movie makers wanted to show the contributions of every ethnic group during the war. Today the movie makers are trying to be politically correct and show a commando team that is diverse. But Special Forces is almost all white and black. The reason is simple. All applicants who are accepted for Seal and Green Beret training must qualify for Top Secret clearance. Most Asian applicants are rejected immediately because of this requirement. The same is true for Hispanic applicants. They are perceived as not being Americans and it is difficult, if not impossible, for them to get a top secret clearance. I had a co-worker who graduated from UCLA and then joined the Air Force. He was assigned to cryptology and he had top secret clearance. He couldn't discuss what he did while in the Air Force. My co-worker told me he once asked his commanding officer why there weren't any Asians in cryptology. His commanding officer told him that Asians couldn't get top secret clearance.

Really? Because I can say with certainty that the biggest obstacle to getting a T.S. clearance (or any military clearance really) is debt/bad credit, and has NOTHING to do with race. I used to work with Hispanics who had top secret clearance, and the O-6 in charge of us all was Asian. Your friend is grossly misinformed.

My coworker did serve in the Air Force from 1973-1977. Maybe what his commanding officer told him then was true at the time. Could I ask you if you worked for the military, intelligence, or defense contractors industries while working with Spanish surnamed individuals with T.S. clearance?

reply

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me. Americans are Americans...regardless of ethnic background. I have a friend who is of Filipino ethnicity and he has a high clearance military position. Maybe what you're saying was true during WW2 and Vietnam, but not now.

Sadly all aspects of the military are becoming more PC, especially with Obama demanding changes. The top brass are more politicians than soldiers and they happily go along with this "diversity" carp to get promotions, bigger pensions, etc.

The grunts are the ones who do the heavy lifting and deserve better!

reply

Exactly. Why would we want any qualified black, hispanic, or asian people in the military. White people are smarter and more qualified than any of them.

reply

I didn't say a thing about the commando team. I'm talking about the PC crap that's taking place right now. men & women on subs for extended trips (resulting in increased pregnancies in the service, not to mention other problems), the elimination of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, will make life much tougher addressing disciple.

I'm proud of our service men/women (as I was once, Air Force) but believe me there are things taking place now, as I said, mainly among the top brass, who are more interested in appeasing their civilian leaders and getting that next promotion.

That’s funny since I have seen a lot of people from all races and some naturalized citizens with top secret clearances. In fact general Eric Shinseki former Chief of Staff of the United States Army was born in the Territory of Hawaii (1942) 17 years before it became a state. Also general Viet Luong was born in Vietnam.

reply

Wrong. A Navy Seal who was recently killed in Afghanistan was an Asian American. His name is James Suh. He was a great American. RIP.

Most are white, you are correct about that. But this is more about the culture rather than who can get clearance.

Anyways watch the move Lone Survivor. His picture is at the end of the movie.
