Selfish ass girls

Watching this right now this Halloween morning and I've seen it a million times. But I guess I'm a little older and I've realized something: these girls were nothing but selfish self-involved brats who misused magnificent power for petty personal gains. It's just weird I didn't think that when I was fourteen lol.

Btw, what city are they in? I figured los Angeles area but Nancy's apt skyline looked off.

Oh jeez nm I started from the beginning. Breckin Myer says LA and a 175,000 windfall probably gets you a condo in the valley.

reply

OMG I feel so fvcked up because I have seen this movie so many times, and I always thought they were in San Francisco! I'm kind of disappointed they were in L.A.

Is Sarah from SF, and that's why I thought they were currently in SF? 

reply

Yes, at the beginning Sarah and her family moved from SF to LA.

reply

I wouldn't label the Sarah character as a 'brat'. If anything the other 3 were a lot worse, especially once they all turned on her and tried to get her to kill herself despite knowing she had already attempted suicide. That says it all really about them more than anything...

What they did not realize is that if she had died they would have lost their magic since she was actually the source of the covens magic. they were leaching off her the entire time

reply

Exactly.

reply

Indeed!!!

reply

To be fair, I think anybody in Neve Campbell's character's shoes, would have wanted to get some kind of miracle cure, if they had third-degree burn marks all over their body.

What's interesting about all these high school movies is the norms they have. For example, males in high schools across America seem to have sports as the norm for social status. Your social rank is based on this. But when you leave school, your social status is much more based upon money and he job you do.

reply

Watching it now (seen it a few times before) if I had that kind of power, yes I would get revenge on my bullies, guess that's selfish.

I don't think the girls were living off of her. Or at least Sarah. Sarah's mom, if I remember, was a witch herself, so Sarah had powers herself. She was a "good witch." Though I do agree that Sarah maybe took advantage of the power, and used the power to get back to Nancy.

I'd much rather see a sequel to this than a remake. A remake. 😒 Too bad a sequel couldn't have been made and told more of a story. But I believe a lot of actors don't want to do a sequel these days.

Yeah, but when you are in High School those things are not petty to you. It's your entire existence. Day after day of a$$ holes giving you a hard time over things you can't control? Like scars or being black?

High School was the most unappealing time of my life and I made it through without incident. I just couldn't stand all the morons being mean to kids because they happened to be blessed with beauty or money that they didn't even earn themselves.

So shallow. Instead of being thankful that they were beautiful they decide to harass other people who aren't as fortunate. Clearly they weren't blessed with hearts or compassion. Now I see them on FB and they are so nice. I guess they forget how awful they were.

(I have no patience for bullying or obnoxious "blessed" people clearly).

Everyone eventually grows up. Some just a little slower than others.🐭
