Something still doesn't make sense to me

I never understood why Rochelle and Bonnie turned on Sarah especially since she helped them both out so much. She helped Bonnie get rid of her scars and she helped Rochelle get her revenge on Laura. They had to know Nancy was crazy. Why would they team up with her to take down Sarah?

reply

There is a deleted scene of Nancy making them feel guilty for not siding with her because she was their friend when they were alone and friendless. So, rather than turning on Sarah, Nancy forced loyalty on them by making them feel bad. Notice that, at the time of the confrontation with Sarah, Bonnie and Rochelle were already fed up with Nancy's behavior, but probably didn't want to be against Nancy for obvious reasons.

Also, there is a chance that the girls didn't want to lose what they already had, and Sarah was somehow suggesting them to "stop". They couldn't know what the effects of "stop" would be. You could see during the scene in Nancy's car, that they didn't want to see what they have become and were enjoying having power.

reply

Agreed.

They were a coven. It was meant to be sacred, and Nancy was the high priestess in a sense even though Sarah was stronger. She tried to bind Nancy (the high priestess) from practicing magic with her binding spell. Not only was she bailing on her coven but she was trying to unstick them at the same time by also rendering their leader without power.

reply

They were not a coven. A coven consists of 13 witches. No other number. 13. And ONLY witches, not vampires, like in the Underworld movies. A coven is 13 witches. Period! Sheesh!

reply

It's because they were drunk on power - going back to that "ultimate power corrupts ultimately" quote. It was the first time these very extremely powerless girls were getting a taste of being on top and, with no previous experience, they didn't handle it well. And plus, they saw Sarah as a threat, as the one person capable of taking it all away and returning them to their situation before, so they were protecting that.

reply

I agree. The girls didn't expect Nancy as being crazy and took out their revenge on Sarah for ruining the fun they had as the four elemental witches.

reply

They were scared of Nancy

reply

They should have been much more frightened, and respectful, of Sarah. Bluntly, though I really enjoy this movie, other than Sarah, they really lacked the magical intelligence to be witches.

reply

I know but they were still kinda new to it, especially Sarah.

.... they really lacked the magical intelligence to be witches.

Yeah, but to be fair they did know how to over-do the makeup and could rock a black wardrobe!!

reply

They were both massive narcissist's. It was more closeted before because of their ''issues'' but it was probably in their nature. Why wouldn't they turn on her if they only cared about themselves? I don't think they properly estimated her power either.
