i remember there being a huge negative reaction to this movie.

I REMEMBER THINKING THE SAME THING....IN RETROSPECT THOUGH,I LIKE IT A LOT MORE AND REMEMBER IT CLEARER THAN A LOT OF OTHER "BETTER" FILMS OF THE ERA.

kinda the opposite to me, I discovered this movie on cable back when Jim Carrey had stopped doing comedies so it was like finding gold LOL
