then again is there really that much hate? everybody i know thinks this is funny. sure hes done better dumb and dumber mask turman show etc but hes done worse too way better than fun with dick and jane and poppers penquins i would say this made me laugh more than ace ventura too.any other comments?

shareI remember when it was originally released and I absolutely loved it. One of the few people who did at the time. The Cable Guy was a movie made before it's time. People weren't ready for it. But obviously it's aged well and has a large cult following.

I saw this 10 years ago and thought, its boring. Re-watched it today and it was really good. Maybe those haters should take 2nd look at this movie.
shareSame. Hated it the first time I seen it when released but it's a movie that grows on you, now find it pretty funny. Broderick is still crap in it though and the weak point of it.

shareI think The Cable Guy is still carrying a lot of the stink it gained back in the 90s. Yeah, we get it : it was a departure for Carrey, but it's also his most rewatchable comedy because of the deeper darker elements it touches on. It's still lowly rated but you'd be hard pressed to find people actually willing to speak to that opinion,for fear they'll sound a bit unsophisticated.

shareBeing a big tv fan I liked this movie right away and I could imagine someone like Chip. The one thing I didn't like was the bathroom scene where Chip was beating up the guy??

Actually I watched this before I became immersed in the horror genre, I sometimes feel like The Cable Guy was my prelude before horror. It's funny for sure (at points) but increasingly dark, that scene in the car park. I do credit TCB for pulling me toward horror and I'm a self professed fan!
