I've always been rather fond of it. Not sure what the major problems are with it. Maybe it seems a bit less sophisticated, by today's standards. But the message remains, even if it's moved on to social media and the little mobile media addicts in the place of the classic fixed TV. But now all those vain kids are more like Chip, alienated and seeking other people, strangers on social media, to define and validate them.
Today's standards? You're kidding, right?
Please give some examples of today's standard of sophisticated humor.
Even if you can, what does it matter anyway? If something can make alot of people laugh then does it really matter if
what type of humor it is?
I absolutely cannot stand pretentious comedy snobs. If people have a natural inclination to laugh at something "lowbrow" or "slapstick" then what's the problem?
It's human nature to chuckle at such things but some people will make a conscious effort to
not laugh at such things or feel the need to remind others and themselves that they're actually above such humor. I cannot associate with anyone like that in real life. Those people are usually nowhere near as smart and sophisticated as they'd like to think they are anyway.
