Hollywood is such a joke sometimes. The big boys and media love to make it seem like certain groups like the jews are so oppressed still and meant to keep their religion secret. Give us a break. The part of The Birdcage where Flockhart's parents show up and Robin Williams' character/family are scared to reveal their jewish name/roots, so they're all tripping up and stuttering to make up an excuse for their name. Come on. If anything, in these times, it's a non-jew who would be in trouble with them. Look at what Hollywood does. In so many films, Hollywood's "big boys" show their intolerance towards Christians and their beliefs.
