still a current subject matter

Still a funny movie. Still a current topic -with our political landscape. 2 of the top 5 geopolitical issues is 1) Israel (jews), 2) gay (same sex couples not being 2nd class citizens). So, the movie may be dated but the subject matter is still as current as it was back then. Which makes the movie believable, in our minds.

Had to stop the movie halfway last night. In finishing it up: 1) yeah, I see what a fu*king douche Val is to his dad and Albert, especially. 2) with the exception of the cars, I don't really see a dated movie. Val dresses like 20 year old do now, Katheryn dresses like a woman with elegance and grace, Armand dresses the way middle aged men (gay/straight) dress in Florida, Albert dresses like no one in and NY era so it works. Still current plot 18 years later: gays, jews, Conservatives, Republican sex scandals, ungrateful kids, the pink elephant in the room. All still current today.
