Amazing direction/photography

Throughout the movie I was marveling at how beautiful this movie looked, with its contrast between the South Beach and northeast scenes, and the brilliant lighting. The amazing crane/helicopter shots were pretty spectacular too. Mike Nichols is great.

Agreed! My favorite movies, in addition to having great casts, acting, etc., also have a great look, feel, music and ambiance about them. This movie is no exception.

It even makes me want to move to South Beach, although in reality I'd never be able to handle the humidity of Florida. Maybe I'll just redecorate my house in Miami colors, and get a houseboy like Agador, who has a lot of Guatamalan-ness!

Yes the photography is great. Emanuel Lubezki is phenomenal.

There were some amazing pan shots throughout. I loved the way the camera panned around the table with Robin Williams as he's serving the soup. It's always great to have a visual style that complements a movie.
