Still love the movie.... But...

I was watching this tonight and yes, I know it is a movie but still, it is just so upsetting that someone would so carelessly ask their father to pretend to be someone he's not and to expell the only mother he has known. Why? So that he could do what he wanted and marry the dumb girl? Elope! Whatever! You obviously don't care about your parents feelings so why bother getting their approval? Why does Armand have to change every part of his life. Selfish and disgusting

But it's still a great movie if I pretend I live in la la land and this is ok.

I agree...and Star Wars would've gone so much smoother without that damned Darth Vader muckin up the works...or if the white people just left poor King Kong on that island....or if Frodo just threw that stupid ring into that river they crossed on the ferry...

Val's a freshly dropped POS.

I guess the film was trying to illustrate the closet, and how it can be used against gay men and gay couples.

I love this movie as well but I do think Val was being an Ass through most of the movie. It isn't until he comes clean and tells the truth, as well as admitting who his mother was.
