calista flockhart

Maybe she's just not my cup of tea, but Calista Flockhart nearly ruined this movie for me.

She added nothing to the character and almost seemed like she was in a silent movie the way she rolled her eyes and constantly grimaced. I know she was trying to express the fact that she was lying, but to me it was a major fail. She had zero chemistry with Dan Futterman.

I remember her on Letterman at the height of Ally McBeal, and she seemed to have the biggest ego of all time, which is saying something in Hwd. She obviously thinks she is great, so I sure she could not care less what people post on IMDb. Ha ha.

Calista was very beautiful and hadn't yet gotten as achingly thin as she did in Ally McBeal, but I agree; she and Dan Futterman didn't have any chemistry.

I agree the fact that I couldn't buy them as teens/early 20s. They both visible crows feet. In 95-96, there were plenty of younger actresses I would have bought in the roles. But I loved the movie so much, I can mostly overlook it.

To me, Dan Futterman was the weak link. He was so blah especially being among such a stellar cast. Calista looked really cute and was fine. Her part was fairly small.

Maybe is was the fact that Dan Futterman was really 30 playing a 20 year old and Calista Flockhart was 32 playing a 17 year old. THAT was what I could never believe.

I agree that Futterman was the weak link. Turns out he's a great screenwriter, so that's good, but he was pretty bad in this.

Well her and the boy friend were total zeros in the film. I think they wanted it that way cause all the others were so dominant. And so good. Also just re watched it after Robin's demise. What a Damm shame. He was just brilliant in this and everything he did. A really funny comedy and always wondered what the gay community thought of it.
