So did they get married at the end or not?

I spoke to someone about this film recently and he firmly believed they implied the marriage was still on.I however remember alley mcbeal's line near the end about regretting she could not be part of thier family.then they escape in drag and thats it.seemed pretty hateful and down beat ending to me( aside from the music of course)
please tell me im wrong

You must have closed your eyes and jumped out of your seat at the cinema. They cut to the wedding scene about one second after the first credit came up.

[email protected] must have been sitting right beside the EXIT. How could you miss the wedding?

reply

maybe I was too busy looking longingly into my friends big beautiful eyes

reply

H-m-m-m-m! Sounds like an excellent reason to miss the wedding. I hope you had a nice night.

ok so 16 years later after this movie comes out (no pun intended), you make this post & claim you took your "friend" to see a movie about a gay couple & not even bother to stay till the end.

Yes, but not included (or edited out) was what I considered the part of the ORIGINAL "La Cage Aux Folles" that rang most true - where during the wedding ceremony the "Nathan Lane" character makes a spectacle of himself disrupting it when, after the "Christine Baranski" character arrives to seat herself in a pew at the last minute, he rants on and onabout the nerve she had showing up.

So did the Titanic sink at the end of that movie or not?

reply

This isn't directly aimed at the OP because they sound like they had reasonably good reason but I hate how as soon as the credits start rolling everyone jumps up and tries to exit as fast as possible. It's not a bloody race ppl!!
