origins of Primo and Secundo?

Does anybody happen to know from which Italian city these two are supposed to come from?

reply

I believe it was Bologna or thereabouts. But I am not 100 percent certain

reply

Primo tells the "flower lady" in the kitchen about Bologna in a way that leads one to believe that it is where they are from.

reply

They were from Abruzzo, a region in Central Italy. Bologna is in Emilia Romagna.

reply

Sorry, they don't come from Abruzzo in the original version. In Italian version Pilaggi brothers say to come from Abruzzo, but in the original one Tucci didn't want to specify their origins. They absolutely don't come from Bologna and their slight accent and dialect in the original version could give to understand they come from Calabria, in Southern Italy, where Tucci's forefathers come from.

reply

That might be true, and I'm not bold enough to dispute Mikiville's statement. However, since I didn't have the chance to see the film in its original language, I didn't have any touchstone to determine where the Pilaggis orginated from. Definitely Southern Italy, though.

Their names are Primo and Secondo, original names of an ancient time anyway, both are supposed to be from calabria as Tucci intended, anyway the italian dubbing uses Accents from Abruzzo, so basically it's supposed they come from that region in italy instead of Calabria. I read some Tucci's interviews and he confirmed they were supposed to come from Calabria. I saw both version of this movie, original audio and dubbed italian. Italian set them coming from Abruzzo. Great movie btw, nice recipes and great songs. Buonasera Signorina kiss me good night!

There are two version of this movie, one is 4:3 full frame, the oteh rone is 16:9, both have differences about including or excluding part of the photography, some goof appears as well. Try to make that frittata as shown in the end...
