unintended laughs

I attendced a screening of the film at the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC at which Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott appeared and talked about it. They said there were a number of moments in the film that produced unexpected -- and unintended -- laughs from the audience. The biggest one is during the Louis Prima dinner, when the title card "risotto" appears on the screen. Audiences, they said, always found this hilarious (because of the risotto scene early on), but it was never meant to be funny.

Now that you mention it... I laughed at that too.

The first time I watched it I started laughing at the beginning of the second-half of the Risotto scene where Secondo goes into the kitchen to ask Primo to make more pasta. My wife asked if I had already seen it... I said, never. That is one of my favorite movie scenes from the past fifteen years.
