The Burning Kleenex Trick

At one point Pascal (Ian Holm) does this little trick where he burns a folded Kleenex and it rises into the air as it burns down. Does anybody know how to do this trick?

it's not a piece of Kleenex- it's the wrapper from an Amaretto biscuit.

it's a very thin paper that you form into a tube, then set alight. it's carried aloft by its own heat.

we used to do this when we were kids and lucky enough to have some of these biscuits on hand.

Amaretti Di Saronno, made by D. Lazzoroni. In New York they are available at Zabar's.

I do this for students. What also works is the paper that tea bags are made out of. When you cut off the ends and shake out the tea, it looks like a little tube.

When I was in London about twenty years ago with my two small sons a waiter did this for them.
