I saw a movie some time back in which one of the guys volunteers to spin the records for a party. Everybody says "OK, but NO JETHRO TULL!!!" He does OK for a while but eventually starts sneaking in some JT but nobody seems to care. Is this that flick?

Yep, this is the one... It's actually Rosie O'Donnell's character saying 'No Jethro Tull" to Michael Rappaport's character, immediately cutting to minutes later when he plays "Aqualung". Great scene!

But it is like an immediate cut isn't it? Like:

Rosie: "Okay but NO JETHRO TULL!"

immediate cut to opening guitar chords of Locomotive Breath.......
