Couldn't agree more. I actually saw a little bit of this when I woke up this morning ... it's 90 degrees out and humid as *beep* ... and the movie wasn't nearly the same as when I saw it back in January.
Definitely a winter night movie, without a doubt.
Haha it's great sober too but I think it's like watching cheers, its better drunk, it makes mroe sense.

You know, I live in Canada and fook me, the only thing you can do in winter is be drunk and remember what it was like to wear shorts and a t-shirt and sandals. Winter is not fun, except when you are drunk, trust me I know.
Everyone gets everything he wants.
I completely agree. I'm from Texas and I was stuck in Illinois (which is cold and windy nonstop) for a good while and my friends and I would get drunk all the time. It was a great time matter of fact because when you're drunk you're not really cold and who doesn't like being drunk. We used to get 1 liter cokes and and a liter of rum and hang out under a bridge shooting the sh**. Good times, It feels like only yesterday but I hate the cold for the most part. My favorite drink in the cold though has to be Southern Comfort, mm, mm good.

If I saw this film when I was drunk, that would sober me.
shareThis is a good drinking movie. It's a buddy flick right up to the last 20 minutes or so, when Tracy shows up, Tommy gets jumped, etc. The comic relief of that final phase of the film is the overweight guy telling off Darian at the reunion. That scene never gets old. It's too bad Jonah Hill wasn't born 10 years earlier, because that scene would have been all his.
shareAbsolutely agree. The second time I saw this movie I had a couple of beers and it was just beautiful... like those girls. I cannot get it into shape but there's definitely something in it.

aint he the same age as Natalie maybe he can be a teenage son to one of the guys and they can remark that she is just as old my kid
shareOnly seen this sober, but it feels real and warm and heartfelt.
And are US small towns like this? At all? Anywhere?
Someone put me out of my misery & tell me. Thanks.
So sad that Ted Demme is no longer with us too.

I can name several towns in Pennsylvania that are much like the town in the movie! I grew up in a small town in Northern PA named 'Kane'. This movie appears as if it were actually filmed in Kane, although I'm aware that it wasn't. I take it you're from the Big City?
shareI got a buzz on right now and decided to put this movie on because its amazing sober but downright perfection when you're drunk.
shareThis is one of my favorite movies about small towns. I'm gonna hold off watching this movie until the fall/winter and try watching it with a good buzz on.
shareSame!
I remember watching this first time and just recently thought about it again. Drunk and it's awesome!

Bauer vs. Bourne, that is the question.
