*** A LEVEL: MEDIA STUDIES RESEARCH ***

I am currently studying A Level Media Studies in the UK. The unit of work I am working on at the moment is entitled 'CRITICAL RESEARCH'. We MUST create our own question to answer in a final exam using primary and secondary research we have gathered.
My question is:

"How has real-crime influenced the storylines of Crime Dramas?"

I would appreciate feedback that could help me with my research. I would like to know the views of a wider range of audiences based on the storylines and how the crime dramas benifit or are hindered by the realism and use of crimes that have been exposed to a larger audience such as the events of September 11th and other incidents that may have caused much controversy in the media.
